Black Maternal Health Legislative Summit
The Black Maternal Health Legislative Summit is a historic convening of legislators primarily from across the Southern region, designed to develop a comprehensive legislative strategy to improve maternal health outcomes for Black women. The event, hosted by Virginia Speaker of the House Delegate Don Scott, Virginia Senate President Pro Tempore State Senator L. Louise Lucas, and the Virginia Black Maternal Health Caucus, will gather state legislators and maternal health advocates to create solutions that address the Black maternal health crisis in the states where most Black women live and give birth.
